Cups smell like chemicals

When I opened these cups to use them, I was greeted by a nasty chemical smell, presumably from the printing. Trashed them, and would avoid similar products like the plague.

They served the purpose but were pretty ugly. The colors are dull and after baking, they looked dark and even worse. They didn't burn or crack, but were simply not appealing.
